11.18.2018 Wedding Invitation

A wedding invitation for Ben Lee & Zoe Lam, designed in collaboration with Jeffrey Lee.

Taking advantage of blind printing with letterpress, the design were separated into two layers. The base layer is a repetition of the Ben’s and Zoe’s last names 李 林, where each character had a stroke that was intentionally taken out. The missing strokes were printed in gold ink on the top layer, along with 李林聯婚, which means Lee’s & Lam’s wedding.

Taking inspiration from the fact that Ben & Zoe enjoy nature, instead of simply writing out the date and time, a simple graphic was design in reference to bamboo and gourd.
