Year of Rooster / Red Envelopes

Limited handmade red envelope for the year of Rooster, using card stock and selvage denim. Designed in collaboration with Jeffrey Lee, co-founder of Doublewood Denim.

In Chinese tradition, married couple give one red envelopes to young kids for good luck. Even only the husband or wife shows up in a new year gathering, the kids will each get two envelops. To make it cute, and less likely to go into trash after collecting the money inside, two versions were designed in reference to the silhouette of a rooster and hen.
