AN IDLER is a design practice by multi-disciplinary artist/designer Angie O. Lee, who has a background in software engineering and visual art. She graduated with a degree in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at UC Berkeley, but her interest in design led her from being an engineer to an artist/designer.
After leaving Apple as an UI engineer, Angie spent 2 years in a visual art program to find new perspectives in visual design, and strengthen her critical thinking skill. Back in 2017, Angie helped designing the UI/UX of an award winning basketball app, HomeCourt, that employs artificial intelligence and computer vision to track a variety of basketball skills. She now does client work through AN IDLER, while making art in her studio in Oakland, California.
